1. iOS — Apple Standard EULA applies

For iOS and iPadOS users, Remotext is licensed under Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA), available at:

The terms in this document are in addition to that standard EULA, not a replacement for it. Where a term below conflicts with the Apple Standard EULA, the Apple Standard EULA takes precedence. Users who have questions about the Apple Standard EULA terms should consult that document directly.

2. Android — Google Play Terms apply

For Android users, the Google Play Terms of Service govern the distribution and purchase of Remotext. These terms apply on top of those.

3. License grant

Subject to your compliance with these terms, Custavia grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use Remotext on devices you own or control, for your personal or professional use.

Free tier: The editing features of Remotext — the text editor, syntax highlighting, bundled themes, and local file management — are available at no charge and are not time-limited. The free tier is a complete, fully functional local editor.

PRO features: Remote connections (SFTP, FTP/FTPS, WebDAV, Dropbox), the SSH terminal, cross-file search, the full theme gallery, custom fonts, and the symbol outline require a PRO subscription or lifetime purchase. A 7-day full-PRO trial is available to new users.

4. Subscriptions and lifetime purchase

4.1 Pricing

Prices are in USD. Actual prices may differ by region and are displayed in your local currency at checkout.

4.2 Billing and cancellation are handled by Apple / Google

All billing, payment processing, refunds, and subscription management are handled entirely by Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play). Custavia does not process your payment information.

• iOS: Manage or cancel your subscription in App Store → Settings → Subscriptions.
• Android: Manage or cancel your subscription in Google Play → Account → Subscriptions.

Cancelling stops future charges; you retain PRO access until the end of your current billing period.

4.3 Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their refund policies. Custavia does not issue refunds directly.

4.4 Trial

The 7-day trial gives full PRO access. At trial end, your account converts to a monthly subscription unless you cancel before the trial period expires. Cancellation instructions are in the App Store / Play Store subscription management screens.

4.5 Lifetime license

The lifetime license grants permanent PRO access on the platform where you purchased it (iOS or Android). It does not include cross-platform entitlement. Lifetime license holders receive all future PRO feature additions at no additional cost for as long as the app is offered on that platform.

4.6 Family Sharing

Family Sharing is available for monthly, annual, and lifetime purchases on both platforms, subject to Apple's Family Sharing rules (iOS) and Google Play's family library rules (Android).

4.7 Restore purchases

You can restore your PRO entitlement at any time from the app's Settings screen. Restoration requires being signed into the same Apple ID or Google account used to purchase.

5. Autosave, data safety, and the limits of our warranty

Remotext includes autosave, which periodically writes a recovery snapshot of open documents to your device's storage. If the app terminates unexpectedly, the app attempts to recover your unsaved changes from the most recent snapshot on next launch.

Important limitations:

• Autosave operates on a timer and on system-requested state preservation events. It does not guarantee that every keystroke is durably saved; some edits made immediately before an unexpected termination may not be captured.
• Remote files (SFTP, FTP, WebDAV, Dropbox) are saved to your remote server only when you explicitly trigger a save. Autosave snapshots of remote-file edits are stored locally; they do not automatically upload to your server. If your local device is lost or reset before you upload, unsaved remote-file changes may be lost.
• Autosave snapshots are stored in the app's sandboxed storage. They may be removed by the operating system under low-storage pressure, by system backup/restore operations, or when you delete the app.
• Large files opened in degraded mode (files exceeding the tiered-opening threshold) may have reduced autosave frequency.

We build autosave and crash-recovery features to minimize data loss, but we make no warranty that your data will never be lost. Always maintain independent backups of files that matter.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Remotext is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Custavia does not warrant that:

• the app will meet your requirements or operate uninterrupted or error-free;
• defects will be corrected;
• the app or the servers it connects to are free of viruses or other harmful components.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so some of the above exclusions may not apply to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Custavia is not liable for:

• any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages;
• loss of data, files, or work product;
• loss of profits or business opportunities;
• damages resulting from use of, or inability to use, the app.

Custavia's total cumulative liability to you for any and all claims arising from or related to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid for Remotext in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) USD $10.

The limitation of liability applies regardless of the legal theory (contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or otherwise) and even if Custavia has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

These limitations reflect a reasonable allocation of risk between you and Custavia and are a fundamental element of the basis of the bargain between you and Custavia.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

8. User conduct and acceptable use

You may not:

• Use Remotext to store, transmit, or process material that is illegal, infringing, or that violates a third party's rights.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
• Use the app to access computer systems without authorization.
• Attempt to circumvent the PRO feature gate or billing system.

9. Updates and future availability

Custavia may update Remotext from time to time. Updates are delivered through Apple's App Store and Google Play. We reserve the right to discontinue support for specific platform versions or to modify or discontinue features with reasonable notice. Lifetime license holders will receive a pro-rated refund if the app is removed from a platform during a period when the purchased features were materially unavailable.

10. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Custavia is registered. For iOS users, disputes relating to the app are subject to the additional dispute resolution terms in the Apple Standard EULA (§1 above). Nothing in these terms limits any rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

12. Changes to these terms

We will post an updated version of these terms with a new effective date and version number if we make material changes. Your continued use of the app after the effective date of a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not accept the updated terms, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the app.
